Information Rules and Terms

Welcome to NWTF Outdoor Education Center Trails. Each of the trails are marked by a certain color.  Trail distances and routes are located on maps. Trails are marked along the route by color spot painted on trees and directional arrows.  Once the desired trail is chosen, follow the appropriate color. Some trails may follow the same route.  Multiple colors maybe located on the same tree.  Directional arrow will show a significant change in direction along trail route.

+ - Why does NWTF have trails open to the public?

The NWTF Outdoor Education Center is open to the public for exercise and nature viewing. All users must abide by the rules and sign in and out.

Exercise Trails

+ - Which trails are for exercise?

Exercise trails are designed for walking or jogging. There are three routes to choose; Bob White Burn, JAKES Jog and Turkey trot. Select the trail and distance that you desire using the map.

Nature Trails

+ - Which trails are for nature viewing?

Nature trails are designed for walking and education. There are three routes to choose; White Tail Walk, Ed's Trail and Longleaf Lane. Select the trail and distance that you desire using the map.

Emergency

+ - What do I do in case of an emergency?

Trail Closure

+ - How will I know if the trails are closed?

Click on the schedule icon on this app to determine if trails are open or closed. There will also be a sign at the kiosk indicating trail status. Trails may be closed due to ongoing events, weather, hunts and maintenance.

Dog Use

+ - Can I bring my dog?

Yes! All dogs must be on a leash at all times.
